GCC Athlete Scott Ogle has been tearing up the local racing scene as of late.  Scott had a WIN at this past Wednesday night’s Ring Of Fire(Asheville, NC) and a second at the May 27th BMW St. Francis Sports Medicine Cat. 4-5 Circuit Race.  If you see Scott, give him a congrats & grab some of that mojo from him!

Two Sprinters, You May Know Both!

Check out this shot of Tom Boonen and Greenville, SC sprinter-extrordinaire – Ives Van Heule!  I’d actually like to see these guys head-to-head just once…  I bet Ives would fair better than most of us!  Anybody notice Ives t-shirt logo by the way?

BioFit Simply Works!

Wonderful comments from another satisfied BioFit athlete!

“During the short time I’ve been riding, I’ve had several people recommend I get properly fitted on my bike.  I was having knee, hip, lower back, and even foot issues after long rides and even after short climbing rides.  Reaching my shifters and brakes while in the drops caused me to rotate my elbows outward.  I finally went to Jim Cunningham and Tim Crunk for a BioFit where all of these issues were addressed through a physical assessment and then a proper fitting on my bike.  It was evident how much this was needed as Jim adjusted every part on my bike leaving nothing as it was before.  This professional fit has correlated into more power and comfort on the bike with no pain of the previously affected areas.  My breathing is noticeably less labored now that my diaphragm isn’t compacted with my seat positioned correctly.  My only regret is that I didn’t have the BioFit sooner.”

Pro Road Bike Fit Testimonial

I fit Donne Pedala athlete Jackie Batson last week.  We made lots of changes to her road bike.  Here is what Jackie wrote to me regarding how it felt on the road (un-solicited by the way!):

Jim,

My bike feels fabulous!!  I think I forgot what it was supposed to feel like.  I am able to utilize SO much more power, sore hips and thighs as proof!  I cannot believe I have been racing my bike the way it was.

I may need a an adjustment on my mtn bike fit as well.  ill let you know.

thanks for everything! jackie

Comments on Recent GCC Pro Bike Fit

Jim,

I want to thank you for doing such a great and professional job with my bike fitment. It was evident that you truly care about getting the best results and I have reaped the benefits. Since the changes that you made, I am now riding in a much more comfortable position and putting more power to the pedals. My only regret is that I didn’t have you make the changes sooner.       Thanks again, Mike Renner

Two GCC Athletes, Same TT

Many of you use and understand power/wattage data.  Here’s an interesting look at two GCC athletes’ power profile for the April 25, 2010 Presque Isle TT

Brad Beeson (yellow in graph below) averages 315 watts

Derek Wilford (red in graph below) averages 265 watts

Derek (265 watts) finishes in 29:57 and Brad in 31:07.  Clearly an aerodynamic advantage on Derek’s side.  This TT course is rather flat and always with significant wind at some point as it is on a peninsula in Lake Erie.

More soon as these two athletes answer some insightful questions regarding their equipment and fit!
