With three decades of experience implementing scientifically based, time efficient training programs, Dan has the knowledge and experience to mentor athletes of all levels and ages who strive to improve performance. Dan has earned degrees in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University, and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from The University of South Carolina recently rated the top Ex Phys program in the USA. In his 10 years as a Fitness Trainer and Exercise Specialist in the fitness industry, Dan attained certifications from the American Council on Exercise and American College of Sports Medicine. Dan is also an associate with the Furman Institute of Running and Scientific Training, assisting with lab testing and camps.
A self-professed data geek, Dan combines his love of power, heart rate and other performance metrics with an intuitive and human touch into a training philosophy that’s realistic and rewarding. Whole Athlete Development is more than a training schedule — it encompasses Physical Training, Skill Development, and Building Inner Strength. Based on Dan’s client recruitment numbers, this approach seems to be particularly successful addressing the unique requirements and motives of Female athletes, Juniors and Masters.
