Cycling has always been a part of Kate’s life. She is a mountain biker at heart, but has spent the past 5 seasons racing on the road. In 2006 she was recruited from the mountain bike scene to race on America’s Dairyland, a professional women’s development team out of Wisconsin. It was at this time where she learned about how fun it can be to race her bike on a team. This team continued for one more season and eventually transitioned to Lip Smacker Professional Women’s team. Kate rode as a development rider on this team as well. She has traveled throughout the US and did many races on the NRC calendar where she supported some of our nation’s best cyclists. In 2009 she was offered a position on the Degaini Women’s team in Melbourne Australia to guest ride for the Bay Crits and a number of other races. There she was on the podium for some of their local races and even walked away with a most aggressive rider award!
Kate now calls Greenville, SC home landing here after living in Boulder, CO and Asheville, NC. She loves the training and the cycling community here in Greenville and doesn’t want to leave! (She has been known to miss the snow a bit).
As a coach, Kate is excited to help people achieve their goals racing, improving fitness, bike handling skills, nutritional, or even bike maintenance. She has passion and genuinely cares about the development of her athletes as a whole. She is looking towards a successful coaching year and will continue to race her bike at the elite level with Team Pepper Palace, based out of Asheville, NC.
