Alex was introduced to bicycle racing at an early age, watching road races come through his hometown in Czechoslovakia before immigrating to the United States. He brings to GCC 25 years of experience in road and mountain bike racing. There was a break in racing while attaining a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in Cleveland Ohio.
His training and coaching philosophy is simple, enjoy the ride, find your goals, sharpen your focus and succeed. Training can and should be fun as long as all the goals are addressed and periodically reassessed. Alex understands that cycling is a passion for most riders. But also realizes that time constraints and other obligations need to be considered in any training program.
Overuse injuries in cycling are fairly common. Such a problem prompted Alex to start his career in Physical Therapy. With his PT background, Alex is a great coach for balancing strength and flexibility. Innovation through personal experience!
